Psychological Guidance Division
The guidance unit is an administrative unit within the faculty that provides distinguished educational and psychological guidance to all faculty students, in collaboration and coordination with the academic departments and the college administration. This is in recognition of the importance of integrating the educational aspect with both the scientific and instructional aspects
The Unit's Tasks:
1. Annual Planning: Develop and implement an annual guidance plan for various programs and activities.
2. Coordination of Activities: Plan, monitor, and coordinate psychological and social activities within the college.
3. Faculty Engagement: Encourage faculty members to incorporate psychological guidance during lectures.
4. Student Support: Assist students in managing psychological pressures that affect their academic performance.
5. Committee Formation: Establish committees within scientific departments to designate psychological guidance representatives for all academic levels.
6. Stage Supervision: Appoint a representative for each academic stage to oversee students' psychological, social, and educational well-being, ensuring confidentiality of shared information.
7. Awareness Seminars: Organize seminars and lectures to address current issues students may face, whether psychological, social, or educational.
8. New Student Integration: Help new students adapt to the university environment by introducing them to the unit's services and meeting their needs in coordination with student affairs.
9.Awareness Campaigns: Participate in creating posters, wall displays, and informative brochures to enhance university students' awareness.
10.Individual Counseling: Provide personalized guidance to students facing minor social, educational, or psychological challenges, ensuring support is available in the counselor's office.
11.Research Support: Assist researchers in conducting studies on psychological and social issues affecting students, offering recommendations for improving guidance practices.
12.Confidentiality: Ensure the privacy of personal or sensitive information shared by students and allow them the freedom to choose their educational counselor.
13.Self-Discovery Assistance: Help students recognize their abilities, interests, and skills while understanding the challenges they face.
14.Decision-Making Skills: Encourage students to develop decision-making abilities and to deliver awareness presentations to their peers.
15.Communication Skills: Foster students' abilities to engage in dialogue, consultation, and express opinions responsibly and freely.
16.Information Collection: Gather and document information about students with psychological or health issues in specialized records, coordinating with administrative and educational bodies to assist these students in adapting to university life.
